Azugh, founded by Imane Faqir, is an AI-powered fashion platform designed to transform the way people discover and shop for clothing online. The vision is to create a personalised, intelligent experience that understands each user’s unique preferences and offers tailored recommendations. Converge Labs partnered with Azugh to bring this concept to life, developing a virtual stylist powered by large language models and advanced visual search. The project aims to move beyond generic shopping, building a platform that truly listens, learns, and adapts to individual tastes.
THE CHALLENGE
The fashion e-commerce landscape is crowded with solutions that promise personalisation but often deliver generic, uninspiring recommendations. Imane recognised a gap for shoppers seeking meaningful, visual advice that feels authentic and relevant. Existing platforms typically require too much effort to customise, leading to user frustration and abandonment. Azugh turned to Converge Labs because the market lacked an AI companion able to combine aesthetic intuition, fit guidance, and a conversational user journey in one cohesive flow. The mission is to create a product that felt both intuitive and genuinely personal, something current solutions fails to offer.

The collaboration focuses on building a robust, scalable technology backbone that powers rapid, AI-driven personalisation at scale. Imane is an active partner, providing ongoing feedback to ensure every technical decision aligns with the brand’s vision. We prioritise engineering flexible architecture and intelligent data flows that deliver real-time value, keeping the platform tightly coupled to genuine user needs as development continues.
THE BUILD
Development focuses on creating a seamless, interactive onboarding and a robust AI engine. The platform leverages OpenAI’s conversational models and computer vision APIs to analyse style imagery and preferences. Users can easily set their style profile, link Pinterest boards, and receive tailored suggestions that match their aesthetic and practical needs. The build involves several creative solutions to challenges such as dynamic product feeds and ensuring nuanced, context-aware AI responses. Every sprint is guided by partner feedback , with the aim of building a delightful and frictionless experience. Any technical blockers are addressed with clear, collaborative problem-solving, always with the end user in mind.
Azugh is still in active development, refining its features and expanding access to a growing user base. The beta platform continues to evolve based on direct user feedback and ongoing partnership between the Azugh and Converge Labs teams. Plans are in place for a broader rollout as the recommendation engine and retail integrations mature.
